Whitney Ringstead, RP, MACP (She/Her), B.A., R.P.
Whitney is a graduate of Brock University in the Honours Bachelor Child and Youth Studies program and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with Yorkville University. Most of her professional work experience has been in social services such as being a children’s mental health clinician, a school mental health consultant, a child and youth worker, and a child protection worker.
Whitney is a Registered Psychotherapist who provides psychotherapy to children presenting with a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and self-harming behaviours. She also supports parents who are struggling to manage their child’s behaviour and works with children whose parents are going through a separation/divorce.
Whitney uses on a holistic and strength-based approach to counselling and understands that everyone’s needs are different and considers this when creating treatment goals. She uses various therapeutic interventions including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectic behaviour therapy (DBT).
